Video ad specs

Spotify is able to accept any creative up to 30-seconds combined with a companion display banner and customizable call-to-action to help you drive engagement.

The specs and requirements listed here apply no matter how you place your video ad buy, whether through managed services (direct IO, programmatic) or via self-service with Spotify Ad Studio.

Spotify is able to accept any creative up to 30-seconds. The max length for standard video ads is 30 seconds.

The advertiser’s name should be no more than 30 characters.

      Portrait video is only accepted for direct IO and Ad Studio buys
    • Landscape 16:9
      For Video Takeover Everywhere campaigns, we only accept 16:9 (landscape) assets.

    Compliance is only applicable to programmatic buys

  • Note: 3rd party tracking is only available for buys placed through direct IO.

Must provide clickthrough URL (only one clickthrough URL can be used).

  • No black bars (no letter-boxing, pillar-boxing, or window-boxing).
  • Frame rate should be NTSC or PAL compatible.
  • No interlaced videos.
  • Video must be submitted without leaders (no slates, countdowns, etc.).
  • All files must include sound - no silent videos will be accepted.

Companion display ad specs

A display ad unit is another visual element of your desktop video ad that gives listeners another way to engage with your message during an ad break.

Long-form video ad specs

Tell more of your story on Spotify with long-form video ads. Create a video spot up to 60 seconds long to drive even deeper connections and awareness across multiple touchpoints.

Not yet available on Spotify Ad Studio.

  • Minimum 31 seconds, maximum 60 seconds.
  • Ads are skippable at 30 seconds.
